The Dorsett Golden apple tree is a cultivar of the Golden Delicious apple. This tree produces medium sized fruit that resembles the Golden Delicious apple with a yellow skin and a pink blush. The flesh is crisp and firm with a sweet flavor. The fruit will be ready for harvest in June to early July. This apple is perfect for eating fresh, in salads, cooking and baking.
Plant in full sun in well-draining soil. The Dorsett Golden is partially self-pollinating. You may get fruit with only one tree, but it is strongly suggested to have a pollinating partner. It pairs well for pollination with Anna. A low-chilling apple that does very well in warm winter climates. Average height 30′ and 30′ wide. Required Chill Hours: 100-200. USDA hardiness zones 6 – 9.
