The Blue Damson plum tree is an heirloom clingstone that produces small, dark purple-black plums with green flesh. The Damson blooms in late spring, making it less likely to be damaged by frost. The fruit is not recommended for eating fresh and is most commonly used for jams, jellies and even wine making.
Plant in full sun, and well-drained soil. The Blue Damson is a self-pollinating variety, but planting pollinating partners can increase the size of your crops. Average height 25′ – 30′ and width 20-25′. Required Chill Hours: 600. USDA hardiness zones 5-9.
