Kieffer Pear Tree (Pyrus communis ‘Kieffer’)

The Kieffer pear produces large-sized, golden-yellow with some crimson blush fruit. The white flesh is crisp and coarse. It is great for preserves, canning or baking.

Sunlight: Full sun minimum 6 hrs per day.

Soil: Well-drained loamy or sandy soil with a pH level of 6.0 to 7.0

Water: Water weekly until established. Water established trees deeply as needed.

Fertilizer: Use a balanced fertilizer in the spring.

The Kieffer pear tree is hardy, fast-growing, disease resistant and drought tolerant. The tree produces large-sized, golden-yellow with some crimson blush fruit. The white flesh is crisp and coarse. It is great for eating fresh, preserves, canning or baking. Ripens from mid-September to mid-October.

Requires full sun and prefers slightly acidic, moist well-drained soil. Kieffer pear trees are self-pollinating. However, adding an additional Kieffer pear tree will drastically increase the size of your crop. Average height 15′ width 10′. Required Chill Hours: 350-400. USDA hardiness zones 4 – 9.
