The Moonglow pear tree blooms in early spring with fragrant white flowers. It produces medium to large sized, Bartlett-shaped yellow to red fruit. The white flesh is soft and juicy without being mushy. Moonglow pears can be enjoyed fresh, as well as used in cooking, canning, and freezing to preserve your harvest. Harvest in mid-August to September.
Plant in full sun and well-drained loamy or sandy soil. Moonglow requires cross pollination by at least two cultivars to ensure adequate pollination. Average height 18′ – 20′ and width 13′ – 20′. Required Chill Hours: 700. USDA hardiness zone 5 – 8.
