The Santa Rosa plum is the most popular plum tree for home growing. It produces an abundant harvest of medium sized clingstone plums that are red-purple, firm, juicy and sweetly flavored fruit. Perfect for eating fresh, drying, baking, and preserves. Harvested in mid-August.
Plant in full sun, well-drained loamy or sandy soil. Santa Rosa is self-pollinating but cross-pollination with a second tree, such as a Methley plum will increase fruit production. Average height is 20′ – 25′ and width 10′ – 20′. Required Chill Hours: 300. USDA hardiness zones 5 – 9
